College of Dentistry

The Manila Central University College of Dentistry was founded 1929. It was organized by Dr. Genaro Francisco as the first Dean and succeeded by Dr. Casto del Rosario who was an Assistant Professor of the University of the Philippines before the outbreak of World War II.

In 1957 to 1960, Dr. Natividad Reyes was appointed Dean followed by Dr. Feliciano Zeneres as the 6th Dean. In 1970, Dr. Ruben C. Navia, a magna cum laude became the Dean of the college and succeeded by Dr. Gaudencio Paguia when the latter was appointed as member of the Board of Dentistry.

In June 1994, Dr. Elisa G. Puzon, a dental and medical graduate was appointed as Dean of the college. She continued the development by offering graduate courses such as: Postgraduate Course in Orthodontics and Postgraduate Course in Periodontology leading to 2 years Masters Degree.

MCU College of Dentistry has grown to earn a place of recognition in dental education and many graduates occupy positions in education, government, private, military and civic organizations.
