Increased visitors and exhibitors brand IDEM as key show for the Asia Pacific Decision makers dominate visitor profile IDEM Singapore 2002 has concluded on a successful note with over 4,000 local and international visitors participating in the congress and trade exhibition. Building on the success of the inaugural International Dental Exhibition and Meeting held two years prior, IDEM 2002 welcomed a 30 percent increase in the number of exhibitors who descended from the four corners of the globe to demonstrate the lastest developments in dental technologies, products and services. Complementing the exhibition, the congress, titled "Dentistry at the leading edge", presented a full programme of education for the dentist and dental team delivered by leading international experts.

Staged from April 12-14 at Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre, IDEM was organised by KölnMesse International GmbH and the Singapore Dental Association. Decision makers ensure success Surveys conducted across all attendees to IDEM revealed that the majority of overseas visitors at the exhibition had decisive purchasing authority within their practice. Part of the success of IDEM 2002 can be attributed to the significant increase in decision makers who attended with exhibitors indicating that the level of business transacted rose commensurately over the previous show. "We are pleased with the improved quality of visitors at this year´s show. Many exhibitors managed to secure favourable deals and promising contacts, which may ultimately lead to follow-up sales," said Mr. Heinz Donnermeyer, Managing Director, KölnMesse International. "The attendance of professional visitors from 43 countries clearly demonstrates that this exhibition has a wide international reach." New technologies a focus for visitors 60% of all visitors to IDEM 2002 sought information about new technologies and new products while purchasing equipment for the dental practice and dental laboratory was a priority for one in two people. 30 percent of all professional attendees were dentists and 27 percent of visitors were from the dental trade.

Visitor surveys also indicated a keen interest in materials, instruments for dentists and technicians, furnishings and equipment for the dental practice and laboratory, oral care products, teeth and veneering materials, prosthetics and orthodontics. IDEM further cemented itself as the key regional exhibition and meeting with 93% of all attendees from the Asia-Pacific region, China and Japan. The largest contingents were drawn from Indonesia (15%), Malaysia (10%), India (10%), China (5%) and Thailand and Taiwan (5% each).

IDEM also attracted visitors from Australia and as far a field as Europe and the USA.
