FEAST STO. NIÑO 2006 was highlighted by the
morning novena mass, evening mass in different streets of the parish, street
dancing contest and a grand procession joined by hundreds of devotees holding
their images of Sto. NiÑo dancing the drum beat of “ati-atihan” last January 15,
2006. The participants tirelessly dance and shouted sparingly Viva! Sto. Nino.
Hala bira! The high mass was celebrated at 4:00 PM with the blessing of infant Jesus images and children.
Officers and members of different parish
organizations competed in the street dancing contest among them were the
Apostleship of Prayer, Mother Butlers Guild, Catechetical Ministry, Ministry of
Greeters and Collectors, Catholic Women’s League ( won the 3rd
Prize), Charismatic Community (won the 2nd Prize) and the Parish
Youth Ministry who won the 1st Prize.
VIVA!
STO NIÑO! In celebration of the feast of the infant Jesus, evening novena
mass in different streets of Morning breeze Subdivision, blessing of children
and images of the infant Jesus were held aside from the morning novena masses.
To brighten the celebration, street dancing exhibition and contest during the
procession in the afternoon will be one of the highlights of the January 15,
2005 celebration
SHJP-MORNING
BREEZE SUBD. (MRF) Material Recovery Facility begun its construction last
December 30, 2005 with the funding coming from the office of Hon. Mayor Rico
Echiverri. With the objectives of helping save the environment and creating
livelihood, The ZERO WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT will now be implemented with the
concerted efforts of the chair of different Barangays (82, 83, 84 & 85) led by
Hon. Ricojudge Echiverri (chair of the MBS Council) under the supervision of
Kagawad Isagani de Leon and the persistence and hardwork of the SHJP Ecology
Committee coordinator Sis. Verna Cabbuag, as prescribed in the Memorandum of
Agreement signed last May 2004. The facilty is expected to start its operation
before the end of January 2006.
Parish
Pastoral Council (PPC) Christmas Party 2005 was held last December 26 at the
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Hall (SHJP Pastoral Building). It was a night of fun
and excitement as members of different organizations under the PPC participated
in the program, games. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and went home with a raffle
prize. Members of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with the able
leadership of Sis. Jenny Andan led the PPC in its preparations.
KABATANG-BIGAY
PALAD is the annual Children’s Christmas party and Gift giving sponsored by
the Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) under the able leadership of May David. Held
simultaneously with the Parish gift giving last December 22, 2005, the day of
“Kabataang-Bigay Palad” was a fun filled as participants joined the different
parlor games, entertainment, and the likes. Treats, luncheon and gifts were
distributed to more than 100 beneficiaries who are members of indigent families
and Sunday mass volunteers.
PARISH
GIFT GIVING now on its third year, is an annual program of the SHJ Parish
Pastoral Council with the objective of sharing food items to the indigent
residents of the community and nearby areas. Packages that include rice,
noodles, canned goods like corned beef and sardines were distributed to 1,350
beneficiaries of the project.
Food items and cash for the said
project were offered during the MISA DE GALLO by the residents and friends of
the SHJP community.
Led by the Social Services and
Development Ministry (SSDM), volunteers of the project personally packed,
arranged and ensure orderly distribution of the food packages. Held last
December 2005 at 9:00 am, the gift giving was preceded by thanksgiving mass
presided by Rev. Fr. Gigi Yabut, the parish priest of SHJP.
Celebration
of MISA DE GALLO 2005 were sponsored by different ministries and
organizations of the PPC, residents of the different streets in the parish and
friends like the Knights of Columbus and MCU College of Dentistry Sophomore
Students. The Anticipated celebration of the mass was held Last Dec. 15 which
was sponsored by the PPC. Cash and food items offered during the mass were
collected for the Parish Gift Giving for the Poor.
Sacred
Heart of Jesus Parish hosted “OPERATION TRUE LOVE” – medical- dental
Mission that treated more than 600 indigent patients last December 9, 2005 at
the Morning Breeze Covered Court. The project said project is under the auspices
of the Social Services and Development Ministry of the Diocese of Kaloocan in as
a thanksgiving in celebration of the birth anniversary of His Excellency Bishop
Deogracias Iniguez. xxxxxx
SHJP
RETREAT AND PILGRIMAGE TO BAGUIO
was held last October 28-30, 2005
was participated by 80 pilgrims. Rev. Fr. Manny Castro facilitated the retreat
at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Prayer conferences led by Rev. Fr. Gigi
Yabut were held in Baguio Cathedral, different churches, pink sisters convent
and chapel. Sight seeing and shopping were also included in the itinerary.
The
culmination of MARIAN EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS CELEBRATION of the Diocese of
Kaloocan was held las October 15, 2005 at St. Mary’s Academy in Caloocan. The
program started with the parade of Parish Priests and PPC chairpersons carrying
their Parish banners; sharing, entertainment and raffle. A night of song and
dance from the different youth groups followed the evening mass that was
presided by Bishop Deo Iniguez. The said affair was under the directorship of
Rev. Fr. Rey Amante (Director of Liturgical Affairs of Diocese of Kaloocan).
Members of the different parish organizations participated in the said activity
where Rev. Fr. Gigi Yabut and the members EXECOM of the PPC were in charge of
the dinner to more than 300 guests and participants. xxxxx
The
members of the Prison Ministry of SHJP together with the members of the
Apostleship of Prayer led in the distribution of gifts (personal items –
slippers, towel, shampoo, bath and laundry soaps, shirts, sanitary napkins,
tooth brush and tooth paste) to more than 130 inmates of Caloocan City Jail as a
form of assistance to their personal needs.Funds came from voluntary donation of
members and friends of the SHJ PPC. Gifts were distributed after the thanks
giving Mass of Bishop Deo Iniguez as one of the highlights of the
PRISON AWARENESS WEEK 2005

PILGRIMAGE
TO PAGSANJAN was organized by the Worship Ministry led by Bro. Emil Tecson
last September 24, 2005 where more than 60 persons participated.
The
Annual PARISH GENERAL ASSEMBLY coincided with the celebration of the 17th
Sacerdotal Anniversary of SHJ Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Rufino “Gigi” Yabut last
September 17, 2005 following the thanks giving mass. The said assembly is the
annual reporting of the PPC chairperson regarding the state and status of the
Parish Pastoral Council and the activities that it planned and carried out for
the past year. The chairperson’s report was followed by the treasurer’s report
and the secretary’s presentation of the future activities. Fr. Gigi also
encouraged the attendees for comments and suggestions regarding pastoral
concerns to improve the pastoral governance. Sumptuous dinner was served after
the event . Husband And wife tandem - Bro. Raymond and Sis. Deana Perez – were
in charge of the food committee.
