The Year of the Holy Rosary

His Holiness, Pope John Paul declared the year from October 16, 2002 to October 16, 2003 as the year of the Holy Rosary.

To mark the closing of the Year of the Rosary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish will be holding a ROSARY RALLY on October 18, 2003, Saturday at &:30PM.

Everyone is invited to become a part of this activity. This will be highlighted by testimonies of those whose lives have been touched by Mary and the Holy Rosary.

Why May?

This is a question answered during the Marian Recollection held last Saturday, October 4 with Fr. Ric Torrifiel shared with us the following, which would help in making us understand the role of Mary in the Catholic faith:

• We believe in God as a Trinity of Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - Jesus being God the Son

• Jesus has two natures, divine and human. In His human nature, Jesus became flesh and bone.

• Mary became the mother of Jesus when Jesus became man while preserving His divine nature.

• Because Jesus is divine, Mary them became the Mother of God.

• Mary never alone. She has always been with Jesus.

• If we live with Mary, we live with Jesus. To live with Jesus is to live with peace and at peace.

• Let us thank God for giving us Mary in order to be for and with Jesus in everything we think, speak and do.
