"Whoever is not against us is for us" "Teacher, we saw someone driving our demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was one of us" The Gospel this Sunday reminds us that the Church is not exclusive to those who practice the same religion. We do not reject anyone just because they do not profess their faith the same way that we do. We are all called to be evangelists - one who proclaim the Word of God. And how we become one when we limit our ministry only to the people whom we know? The Church belongs to all of us. No man has the right to discriminate because of differences in race, nor in social status. We are equal, made in the image and likeness of God. We are called to treat everyone equally and act humbly without trying to dominate anyone or anything. Avoiding Sin "if your mind cause you to sin, cut it off. It is better to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fir never goes out," No Christian and no Christian leader is above human weakness and personal sin. However, this is not an excuse for trying to avoid sin and anything that causes us to sin for sin is the only thing that would separate us for God. The Second Vatican Council recognizes that we all truly of ten in many things and we all need God's mercy continuously and must daily pray: "Forgive us our debts", |
